WCDF Registration Desk
Dear dancers,
Since last year, the Worldcdf General Council has approved an important rule change that affects dancers across ALL divisions wishing to compete at Worlds.
The Worlds qualification rule was modified to:
“All competitors, except Troupes, Teams, Wheelchair and Social dancers and those in their first year’s membership to the WorldCDF, are required to compete at three (3) events, to qualify for the World Championships. A minimum of one (1) of these entries must be for overall in the age division you will register for Worlds, where overall is applicable.”
This means, for example, if:
- A dancer has competed in Line Classic Diamond Novice at the Baltics (Overall) + competed at the Benelux Open in Line Classic Diamond Novice (no Overall) + competed at the Summer Classics in Line Classic Crystal Novice (no Overall).
–> he is qualified for Worlds in the division Line Classic Diamond Novice.
If he had competed for Overall at the Summer Classics (In Crystal) he could choose Diamond or Crystal to compete at Worlds. - But also:
- If the same dancer competes for overall at any event during the year in Modern Line B Chrome
–> he qualifies for Worlds in Modern B Chrome
- If the same dancer competes for overall at any event during the year in Line Showcase Diamond
–> he qualifies for Worlds in Line Showcase Diamond
- If the same dancer competes for overall at any event during the year in Pro-Am Classic Diamond Novice
–> he qualifies for Worlds in Pro-Am Classic Diamond Novice
If the same dancer competes at any event during the year in Renegade Diamond
–> he qualifies for Worlds in Renegade Diamond
… the great news is that you can register for Worlds in any one of these divisions. But remember, you must however compete in your "main qualifying" division at Worlds.
So if you are competing this year at Worlds, check the divisions you have done during the season … you might be able to register for extra divisions.
